Clipper City Brewery Tour

On September 25, 2007 a tour of Clipper City Brewery was given by Hugh Sisson, the general manager and a partner at Clipper City. Clipper City brews a number of beers under its Heavy Seas label as well as its Oxford Wheat Beers and Chesapeake Brands. Keep an eye for interesting seasonal beers throughout the year. Giving back: If you want to support our returning Veterans then purchase Clipper City beers. The brewery is donating a portion of the proceeds to help in the rehabilitation of our wounded soldiers returning from Iraq and Afghanistan.

A number of people are not aware that breweries commonly 'contract' with another brewery to brew beers which they need in volumes higher than can be produced at their own facility. Clipper City does some contract brewing for various breweries on the east coast.

Above: Clipper City tap handles. On select Saturday's of the month, Hugh and company at Clipper City host tours and for $5 anyone (over 21) can enjoy a sampling of beer and keep a souvenir glass.
