SUGARLOAF MOUNTAIN VINEYARD

On January 8, 2008 a visit was scheduled at one of Maryland's newest wineries. Located on the Montgomery/Frederick County line in the shadow of Sugarloaf Mountain, this winery offers hikers, runners and outdoor enthusiasts the opportunity to check out some trails then taste some wine!

Above: French Oak barrels are used exclusively to age at Sugarloaf Mountain Vineyard. Under the direction of winemaker and vineyard manager Carl DiManno this winery emphasizes traditional French varieties and styles.

Above: Sugarloaf Mountain is ready to handle demand for their wine. Each of these tanks holds about 1,020 gallons of wine.
